DGBF Background
Welcome to the Denis Goldberg Business Forum,
the official business engagement forum registered as a Trust with a mission to invest
in skills and entrepreneurship development for people particularly ANC marginalised
black people to participate in the mainstream economy of the Greater Randburg area.
Denis Goldberg Business Forum is named after a successful launch of the Denis Goldberg
Branch named after a Rivonia Trialist and Freedom fighter who is also an engineer by
training born 11 April 1933 in Cape Town, South Africa. Denis Goldberg is a South African
Social Campaigner and Founder Community H.E.A.R.T. He was active in the struggle against Apartheid.
He was the Leader of the Congress of Democrats. During the State of Emergency he was detained for 4
months. In 1963, he received a banning order and was one of the defendants' in the Rivonia Trial
in 1964. Goldberg was sentenced to life imprisonment. He was released in 1985, after 22 years
in prison and went into exile to London. He returned to South Africa in 2002.
Denis Goldberg Business Forum is a registered trust organization to address the socio economic
challenges within the community of the Greater Randburg area focusing on skills upliftment
as well as entrepreneurship development with an aim to close the gap between the haves
and the have nots of our area. In addition to the above challenges the Denis Goldberg
Business Forum also has launched Community Legal Centre, a Program to assist members of
the community in the area with free and quality legal services consulting and
litigation including among others; labour relations disputes, unfair dismissal, rental
and eviction disputes, corporate and commercial law by highly qualified attorneys,
Notaries, Conveyances, Advocates and Senior Counsels who are giving back to members
of our community
